ALBERTI ANALAGOUS

Writing Architecture Series (forthcoming)

The forthcoming book Alberti Analagous (Writing Architecture Series), is a critique Rudolf Wittkower’s reading of Alberti as the paradigm for the Renaissance humanist. My role in the project was editing texts from contributers as well as developing a series of analytical drawings to pair with each essay. The texts interrogate the notion of heterogeneous space in the seemingly ideal systems of Alberti’s designs, uncovering paradoxes and conflicts within the Renaissance project of the Part-to-Whole. Through superpositioning and collision, the drawings reveal the ambiguities and errors of Alberti’s harmonious constructs, challenging the assumptions of homogeneous space in the Renaissance.

I worked as an editorial intern in 2013 for the Log Journal for Architecture.
